The Town of East Millinocket wanted to explore the potential of a 100-acre parcel of newly acquired land along the West Branch of the Penobscot River. Working closely with the town, we developed a site plan that honors the history of the former mill, embraces the riverfront setting, and connects to the town’s identity. The proposed development includes river access points, a boat launch, outdoor event spaces for large gatherings, open play areas, multiple parking lots, restrooms, a community garden, playgrounds, and a skatepark. Additionally, the plan incorporates mountain biking trails and related facilities, an outdoor art park, and a river overlook. The design also envisions the integration of renewable energy through a 25-acre solar farm, with multi-use trails running alongside. Key areas have been reserved for potential future commercial development.
