HISTORIC TEA LAWN RESTORATION
ACADIA NATIONAL PARK
The restoration of the historic Tea Lawn at Jordan Pond House focused on enhancing the health and stability of the lawn, improving visitor circulation and seating areas, all while preserving its historic character. Aged and damaged brick walkways were redesigned, while native gardens have flourished, attracting both pollinators and tourists.

Acadia National Park worked with its collaborators to undertake a comprehensive restoration of the historic Tea Lawn at Jordan Pond House. The project focused on enhancing the health and stability of the lawn, improving circulation and seating areas, and preserving the historic character of the Tea Lawn and its surrounding gardens. The innovative lawn matrix, designed to withstand the demands of Maine's summer visitors, continues to thrive, while the native gardens have flourished, attracting both pollinators and curious tourists alike.
